Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
Our commitment to privacy
Skjoldi was built specifically to help parents protect their children's privacy online. We take the protection of your data — especially photos of your children — extremely seriously. This policy explains exactly how we handle your data.
Photo handling
Original photos
Automatically deleted within 1 hour of processing. Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
Processed photos
Retained for 30 days so you can re-download them, then permanently deleted. You can delete them manually at any time from your dashboard.
No AI training
Your photos are never used for AI model training, machine learning, or any purpose other than the face protection you requested.
Data we collect
- Account info: Name, email, and hashed password (if using email signup)
- Usage data: Number of photos processed, credit balance, subscription status
- Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Rectification — Update or correct your personal information
- Erasure — Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — Export your data in a machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, go to your Dashboard > Account Settings, or contact us at privacy@skjoldi.com.
Security
All data transmission is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Stored files are encrypted at rest with AES-256. We use signed URLs for all file access, rate limiting on all endpoints, and regular security audits.
Children's privacy
Skjoldi is designed for parents and guardians to protect children's privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our service is intended to be used by adults to protect their children's images.
